Nursing and compassionate care in a technological world

Impact of Tech

There are massive changes coming to nursing, brought about by technology. Currently, Canadian nurses engage in a somewhat limited use of AI and related technologies, but that will certainly change in the future. These technologies will have a significant presence within the Canadian healthcare landscape.

Given that nurses make up the largest healthcare workforce in the country, the nursing profession needs to be thoughtful about how it positions itself in the context of an AI-enabled healthcare world. It must consider the potential ramifications for clinical practice, education, research, leadership, and more.

This AMS-sponsored report digs into the implications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and robotics in the future of nursing and in nurses’ ability to provide compassionate, person-centered nursing care. If you’re an RN, RPN, or NP, this report is for you.
