Creating an AI tool to predict survival of long-term care residents with Covid-19 infection

COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted long-term care (LTC) homes across Canada. Improved mortality predictions could inform clinical decisions and ensure the care provided will align with a resident’s prognosis and wishes.  Using provincial health databases, Martin is creating a machine-learning based mortality risk prediction tool for COVID-19 positive residents in all Ontario LTC homes. This tool will then be available for rapid deployment in future outbreaks.
