Digital twins are an emerging AI technology with potential to support personalized dementia care, disease monitoring, and research by simulating health trajectories over time. However, little is known about how they should be used in practice. Laura’s project examines the perspectives of caregivers, healthcare providers, and clinical researchers to identify perceived benefits, concerns, and ethical implications. Using semi-structured interviews, Laura and her team will assess which uses are socially desirable, clinically useful and technically feasible, and develop guidance for compassionate and responsible development.
