- Provider wellness/resilience
Workplace stress can cause a physician’s emotional exhaustion and burnout. Edward designed his fellowship to study physician wellness and burnout and their impact on delivering compassionate care. He felt that talking about wellness and burnout was stigmatized within the medical profession. Edward wanted to use his fellowship to have important conversations with his colleagues, and better understand their needs around resilience. During his fellowship, he built communities of practice and hosted discussions about wellness and self-care. In doing so, he laid a foundation for physicians to practice self-care and ensure that they’re able to keep compassion at the top of their priority list.
