Almost all children with cancer will experience pain. This pain decreases quality of life for the child and their caregivers—and is a significant financial burden to families and health systems. App-based digital solutions are uniquely poised to offer real-time and accessible compassionate healthcare and family support and prevent or alleviate cancer pain in this group. Lindsay has begun developing a novel cancer pain management app for parents of young children with cancer. She is now embarking on an adaptive, multi-site and user-centered project with parents to compassionately co-design the new cancer Pain Caregiver Resource (PainCaRe) app.
