Claire Kendall

Board Member

Claire Kendall is a family physician, epidemiologist, and health systems researcher who serves as Associate Dean, Social Accountability in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and Senior Investigator at the Bruyère Health Research Institute, where she holds the Clinical Research Chair in Primary and Community Health System Integration. Her work focuses on strengthening primary care and advancing health equity through place-based, community-engaged approaches that connect research, education, and health systems to the needs of communities. She has helped advance innovative initiatives such as CityStudio Ottawa, which brings students, faculty, community organizations, and civic partners together to co-create solutions to complex social and health challenges, and the Ottawa Neighbourhood Study, which uses local data to inform more equitable planning and action.

 

Claire also provides health-system leadership through regional and national advisory roles, including as Chair of the City of Ottawa’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Advisory Committee and as a member of the Ottawa Ontario Health Team – Équipe Santé Ottawa Primary Care Network Leadership Group. Claire is a valuable addition to the AMS Board, bringing expertise in community partnerships and the use of evidence to strengthen care, improve health outcomes, and advance meaningful change across health systems.
