Justin Angevaare is the Principal Data Scientist at Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, where he leads work on responsible AI and advanced data science. His role focuses on turning emerging technologies into practical public health capability, with attention to safety, governance, implementation, and staff trust. He also helps build organizational capacity by overseeing technical delivery and developing staff and trainees in emerging public health data roles, including data engineering and applied AI. Through open-source collaboration and sector knowledge sharing, Justin works to make locally developed innovation easier for other organizations to assess and adapt. He holds a PhD and MSc in Applied Statistics from the University of Guelph.
