“Leadership, Practice, Rural Life—Striving Towards Being in Community and Living Compassionate – Socially Just Care”

The goal of the work being undertaken is to develop a network with a broader community of rural health and policy researchers/practitioners (Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research [CRaNHR Lakehead University] to explore: community engagement and socially just research; social justice/community learning resources for rural health researchers, practitioners and educators, and mentorship as it is related to the development of new researchers. The methodology resides in a qualitative paradigm – relational epistemology, post-colonial and critical health and feminist theory – and supports community engagement. A research/educational team has been established within the CRaNHR group at Lakehead University, as well as researchers/theorists at the provincial, national and international levels.
