Leveraging Large Scale Mentoring Networks to Strengthen Compassion in Primary Care
Primary care clinicians are facing significant challenges in supporting their patients who suffer with mental illness, addictions and chronic pain. Mentorship in the Collaborative Mentoring Networks is successfully supporting primary care clinicians to tackle these challenges and provide compassionate care by translating relevant knowledge and evidence in a compassionate space for providers to learn.
The work in this fellowship is related to the mentorship network and is structured into three areas. The first will focus on better understanding how the network is supporting the delivery of compassionate care and how to further strengthen the program. The second component will involve collaborating with regional and provincial partners to increase the capacity of the network to support more primary care clinicians throughout Ontario. The final component will leverage the communities of practice within the Collaborative Mentoring Networks to develop regional leaders in compassionate care.
