Dr. Jacalyn Duffin, Hannah Chair in the History of Medicine at Queen’s University, will be retiring at the end of June. On May 28, 2017 a retirement dinner was held for Dr. Jacalyn Duffin, in conjunction with the annual meetings of both the Canadian Society for the History of Medicine and The Canadian Association for the History of Nursing. Surrounded by friends and colleagues from across Canada, Dr. Duffin’s contribution to the study of the History of Medicine in Canada was celebrated.
Jackie was first appointed Hannah Chair in September 1988. Since then she has had a distinguished career as a teacher, author and researcher. A former President of both the American Association for the History of Medicine (ASHM) and the Canadian Association for the History of Medicine (CSHM), she is the author and editor of eight books and holds several awards for research, writing, teaching and service.
