Change Day Ontario Celebrates

Can we just say Wow!

The first Change Day Ontario is in the books and what a great campaign it was. Thank you to all who participated; nurses, doctors, personal support workers, students and patients. We received pledges from everyone who touches the healthcare system. We were humbled by your brave pledges to impact change, to change your actions, your work environment and your patients’ lives.

We received close to 6000 pledges before midnight November 17th and we see more coming in as people and organisations enter all of the terrific pledges gathered at events and workplaces across Ontario. We’ve seen entire departments pledge to provide an improved patient experience, medical professionals pledging to work toward improved access and equity as well as personal statements to reduce burnout. We couldn’t have hoped for a more engaged and passionate campaign.

Thank you to those of you who were able to participate in our #ChangeDayON Twitter party! It was our first time hosting a twitter party and we weren’t disappointed. The stories, the celebrations, pizza parties, cakes, buttons and banners, and best of all, smiling faces working together to improve quality compassionate care.

We are happy to confirm that AMS and HQO will be partnering again in 2018 to continue to bring Change Day to Ontario and grow the momentum.  A huge thank you to the Change Day teams in BC, Alberta and the NHS for sharing their experiences with us and allowing for a little friendly competition.

Stay tuned as we reach out to selected participants to solicit feedback on the campaign and work to make 2018 even better!
